A great time for reflection – Re-cap on the financial year!

13/12/22

There is an air of buoyancy and excitement leading up to Christmas and the New Year with many milestones clocked up from the start of the financial year. Here are some:

June 2022 – The Henley Garden Party: A first joint community event celebrating the Seniors Festival with perfect weather at the Henley Community Green.

What a collaborative event, there was a cast of many including Sydney Community Services, Stryder Community Transport, North Ryde Community Aid – Presbyterian Aged Care, and The Happy Hens Social Enterprise. We had generous support from the City of Ryde and Hunters Hill Council. Finally, a special thank you to our exhibitors – Lane Cove Council, Sydney Multicultural Community Services, SES, The Red Cross, Country Women’s Association, and Chris Lewis Creations. There was fantastic entertainment from Joubert Singers, Hunters Hill Stilt Walkers, and informative demonstrations by Easy Care Gardening. What a great community we live in!

July 2022 – An Open Day at Stryder with a fabulous morning tea and a great information session for our community to check out the services and our depot. We now conduct monthly Open Days. And who can forget the wonderful Yulefest celebrations with great dress-ups and competitions over lunch!

August 2022 – The great Sassy Stryder Team returned for the second year running for the great Trivia Rematch. Stryder signed a landmarked agreement to partner with North Ryde RSL to provide courtesy transport to and from the club, culminating in special offers for yummy lunch gatherings. Then there were trips to the Disability Expo later in the month which was a refreshing treat to check out new technology and innovations.

September 2022 – slipped in with a powerhouse hosted by Team Stryder at the Macquarie Park Ryde Business Chamber’s Business After Hours event held at the re-furbished Gladesville Hotel. We mingled with many of our business partners and community organizations for a successful evening of networking. Our clients had their share of fun with the early start of their trip to attend the Tulip Festival at Bowral.

October 2022 – was welcomed with a green theme decoration for our bus for the Granny Smith Festival in Eastwood. It was also a significant moment when The Community Transport Organisation (CTO) Conference 2022 finally happened after 2  years on hold. The theme ‘Resilience’ certainly resonated with every community transport provider (CTP).

November 2022 – A long-awaited welcome for the latest member of the Stryder vehicle family – the Yutong! What a maiden trip meandering on the spectacular Sea Cliff Bridge and pulling up at the Scarborough Hotel, near Thirroul. (Photo credit of our gorgeous clients on this lovely trip).

Time does seem to fly. Thank you again for your wonderful participation and support.
