Vale Maxwell Howard Kingston

17/10/22

Stryder Community Transport would like to pay respects and offer our condolences to the family of Max Kingston who passed away on 2nd October 2022.  Max was very active in his local community and indeed had connections around the world through various roles with many organisations.

Max served on the Stryder Board for 6 years (2011 to 2017) and chaired the organisation for three of those years.  He had the vision to see our Ryde Hunters Hill Community Transport grow, and he set into motion the organisation that Stryder it is today.

Max was an imposing figure and always dressed to the hilt, but what he was most loved and known for was his care and interest in the lives of those around him, whether it was family, work colleagues, or friends. He would always call on people and check in with them regularly and was always ready to lend a hand.

Many a day he organised a spare bus for Stryder through his work with Budget Car Rental and often hop in the driver’s seat to deliver a bus to our depot.

Max was involved in tourism for much of his career and more recently was an ambassador to Rex Airlines, a position that was close to his heart.

Max,  you are very much missed. I would like to say thank you on behalf of the board, clients, staff, and volunteers of Stryder, both past and present, for your support, encouragement, and vision.

Farewell.

Virginia Coy
