Did you know that there are around 2.65 million carers in Australia that provide care and support? This can be to a family member or friend and is often an unpaid service.
Unpaid carers offer a service of immeasurable value to our society, so the week of 16 – 22 October is an opportunity to raise our community awareness about the diversity of carers and to celebrate these often-unsung heroes.
In support of the many carers in our local community, Stryder does its part by way of providing free transport to carers who are travelling with their family or friend. Some carers require transport for respite, Stryder is also available to provide this service.
Stryder likes to team up with like-minded organisations and has recently joined forces with Carer Gateway (through Yourside) who advertise their services through Stryder, including bus sponsorship. Carer Gateway is an Australian Government program providing free services and support for carers, including counselling and peer support, respite care, short-term financial aid, and specialised services for young carers.
If you or your carer require transport assistance, please contact Stryder at 9816 5000 or via our website.
